ATRA STROMATA: SURVEY LOGS

ATRA STROMATA: SURVEY LOGS

Atra Stromata is the deepest and strangest corner of our slate—a subterranean geological sci-fi mystery that trades the surface wasteland for the dark beneath it. In this dispatch we want to open up how we’re approaching the deep crust as a setting.

The premise starts underground, where the rules of the surface stop applying.

Fault Line Anomalies

The core of the mystery is seismic fault anomalies—readings that shouldn’t exist, coming from depths nothing should survive. They’re the thread the whole IP pulls on: every survey that goes down chasing an anomaly comes back with more questions than it left with.

The Vault Chambers

Deeper still are the deep-crust vault chambers—sealed spaces our Void Vault project centers on. Designing them means answering the quiet, unnerving question underneath the whole IP: who, or what, seals a chamber that far below the world?

The surface has enforcers and quotas. The deep crust has something older, and it was sealed down there on purpose.

Charting the Dark

We’re building Atra Stromata out through exploratory faction chronicles and script blueprints—following the survey crews rather than narrating over them. The reader learns the deep crust the way they do: one descent at a time.

There’s a lot still sealed. We’ll surface more as the survey logs are compiled.
